The Shuey House is not only home to 8 female students, it is also the primary residence for our own family, "THE SCHELLINGS". We are a family of five (Steven, Rebecca, and our three young children), and reside on first two floors of The Shuey House.  This will be our ninth year of living here, and we love meeting and getting to know all of the wonderful gals that that live here. Though we are here to help facilitate and manage the house, as well as provide security and safe environment for our residents, daily student activities are run by the student residents--we do not act as your "parents".

The Shuey House is also is a part of a larger community of Christian student housing near the University of Washington. We participate in neighborhood activities and social events, as well as our own house gatherings. We are non-denominational, and are open to all believers who choose to live in a "like minded" home with other residents of Christian faith.

As a resident, you agree to participate and be involved in the house community, as well as to abide by house rules and contribute to household responsibilities.  Throughout the school year, you will rotate onto one of the various house committees such as "social activities" or "household chores facilitator".  Attendance at monthly house meetings is also required. Though small group Bible studies are encouraged, they are not mandatory. Many of the students are involved in small group studies through their church.
