Rates for Student Housing

n $485/month *

n $165/month additional food plan (see below) *

Rent is due on the first of the month.

First payment is due September 1st. No payment is due June 1st.

n 9 months (Sept 19-June 13)

What does rent include?

n All utilities are included: heat, water, garbage as well as high speed internet and cable TV.

n Furnished living spaces. Bedrooms include: twin bed with mattress, desk, chair, dresser, and wardrobe or closet space. All shared spaces are furnished with sofas, TVs and tables as needed. Kitchen utensils and dishware also provided.

n Laundry: A coin-operated washer and dryer are in the apartment for student use.

n Parking:  Street parking is available with a zone 6 parking permit for $30/year. There is no on-site parking at The Shuey House. There is a secure area for bicycles.

Deposit and Cancellation Policies

A$350 deposit will be required to reserve your spot once your application has been received and your placement is approved.  This is non-refundable until the END of the academic year.  If you choose to cancel your spot prior to the start of the school year, you forfeit the entire deposit. At  the end of the academic year, $300 is refunded and $50 is held for cleaning.

Choosing to live at The Shuey House is a commitment.  Once you move-in, you are responsible to uphold your nine-month lease. Should you choose to move out for any reason, you are responsible for covering  the monthly rental payments until you find an approved replacement.  (Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis).  Your $300 deposit will be refunded once your replacement has moved in.

* OPTIONAL MEAL PLAN

This year, we would like to offer a meal plan for the residents.  However, this requires a majority of participation.  Implementation will be based on the feedback we get from the applications and residents. 

Meals would include: Week-night community dinners (Monday through Thursday)  prepared by the students.  Breakfast and lunch provisions for students to prepare on their own (Monday through Friday). Students provide their own meals on the weekends.
